New CPVC Ball Valve Delivers Performance and Longevity
One of the most common concerns with CPVC systems over the years has been the poor performance of CPVC ball valves. To better understand this concern, the FlowGuard Gold team tested every CPVC body ball valve design we could find globally. They all failed long-term durability testing.
That was an issue we wanted to address. Contractors shouldn’t have to spend more on metallic valves to get a shut-off valve that works more than a couple of times without seizing or leaking.
So, we worked with Rich Full Hardware to develop a better CPVC ball valve. As Rich Full engineered new designs, we tested those designs to very demanding standards. I’m pleased to share that the process culminated in a full line of CPVC ball valves that have passed the rigorous testing that other plastic ball valves failed.
These tests include:
- 210 psi for 1000 hours at 180°F with the valve open
- 250 psi for one hour at 180°F both open and closed
- 320 psi for 60 seconds at 180°F both open and closed
- 100 psi at 73°F through 20 open and close cycles
The new FlowGuard Gold CPVC Ball Valve, manufactured by Rich Full Hardware, is now available in sizes from ½” to 2” to provide a cost-effective alternative to metallic ball valves and a higher quality alternative to other plastic ball valves for all residential plumbing projects.
They match the pressure rating of FlowGuard Gold pipes and fittings so they won’t derate your system, and they are the only CPVC body ball valve authorized as part of the FlowGuard Gold CPVC system. Like FlowGuard Gold pipes and fittings, they are easy to install and are immune to corrosion from chlorine-based disinfectants in drinking water, which can shorten the lifespan of metallic valves.
You don’t have to spend more to get a ball valve you can trust for the long term. Ask for the new FlowGuard Gold CPVC Ball Valves at your plumbing distributor.
