FGG/BM® SYSTEM COMPATIBLE PROGRAM EXPANDS

New Products Tested to Assure Chemical Compatibility with Noveon CPVC Products

CLEVELAND, OH – Now it’s easier than ever to choose an ancillary product with the peace of mind that it’s chemically compatible with FlowGuard Gold® CPVC pipe and fittings.  That’s because three new products have recently joined the FGG/BM®  System Compatible Program, bringing the total to 32 products that have been tested and approved for chemical compatibility.

The three new products include TREMstop IA intumescent firestopping sealant from Tremco Fire Protection Systems and Slic-Tite®  Paste and Lubri-Joint® Water Dispersable Gasket Lubricant -- both from LA-CO®.

Tremco’s TREMstop IA intumescent firestopping sealant is a single component, water-based, intumescent acrylic firestop sealant that expands to fill any void caused when combustible materials burn. TREMstop IA has exceptional sealant qualities, including superb unprimed adhesion, easy gunning, and the ability to be painted once fully cured.  TREMStop IA is available in cartridge, sausage and gallon containers.

LA-CO’s Slic-Tite
®  Paste with Teflon* provides great sealing power on all tapered pipe threads. It can be used on metal, PVC, CPVC, and ABS plastic pipe threads for sealing water, air, steam, natural gas, LP gas, refrigerants, ammonia, gasoline and oil.  The non-drying formula will not harden or crack in the pipe joint.  Slic-Tite Paste is available in sizes ranging from 1.5 oz. tubes to 55 gallon containers.

LA-CO’s Lubri-Joint
® Water Dispersible Gasket Lubricant is ideal for lubricating rubber gaskets, promoting proper expansion and ensuring correct fit.  It is suitable for all types of pipelines, including CPVC and soil pipe.  Lubri-Joint can be applied to wet and dry surfaces.  Lubri-Joint Water Dispersible Gasket Lubricant is available in quart and gallon containers.  For more information on LA-CO’s Slic-Tite Paste and Lubri-Joint Water Dispersible Gasket Lubricant, visit www.laco.com.

All three products will display the special FGG/BM compatible mark on their label which quickly tells installers that the product is chemically compatible with all of Noveon’s CPVC products.  In order to qualify for this program, each product was subjected to rigorous third-party testing which assures that the product will not fail as a result of chemical incompatibility.  Only manufacturers that have passed these specific compatibility tests are able to place the specially designed FGG/BM compatible mark on their products.

The FGG/BM System Compatible Program, which was started in 2002, is the only known program of its kind in the industry which is designed to increase user confidence and help eliminate the guesswork as to which products are chemically compatible

Since CPVC products are made with base resins having different molecular weights and varying chlorine contents and compound additives, the FGG/BM System Compatible program can only verify chemical compatibility for the products with which they have been tested (i.e. Noveon products).
