FLOWGUARD GOLD™ UNIVERSITY OFFERS HANDS-ON TRAINING ON INSTALLING HIGH-PERFORMANCE CPVC PLUMBING SYSTEM
In addition to the Cleveland location, FlowGuard Gold University-West in Valencia, California (near Los Angeles ) accommodates growing interest in CPVC plumbing systems. Iin 2001 the California plumbing code was changed to permit CPVC pipe and fittings in those areas where aggressive soil and/or water had caused copper plumbing failures.
As part of the code, however, plumbers were mandated to complete a training program before installing the longer lasting FlowGuard Gold CPVC system. The FlowGuard Gold University program fulfills that requirement.
To accommodate busy schedules, the west coast program also includes a mobile unit that can visit construction sites and complete the certification program in two hours — usually over a lunch hour or during the early morning before the trucks left for the job site. This mobile unit features actual walls with sample FlowGuard Gold CPVC pipe installations.
Key to the education program is information on proper use of FlowGuard Gold’s patented, one-step solvent joining system, which eliminates the need for torches or heavy equipment and may be pressure tested within as little as ten minutes.
Water distribution for commercial and high-rise applications is also covered in the two-day course. For applications requiring pipe sizes greater than 2" CTS diameter pipe, durable Corzan® CPVC pipe and fittings are available in sizes up to 16" IPS diameter. Proper design and installation techniques for the larger diameter pipes are also covered, along with tips for transitioning to existing plumbing systems, including CTS to IPS transitions.
In addition, the course covers information on corrosion-free BlazeMaster® pipe and fittings. This widely recognized fire sprinkler protection system provides a dramatic measure of safety to help reduce property damage, personal injury or death from fire.
The program at FlowGuard Gold University-West also includes specific information on California regulations, R&D advancements, and tips for promoting this superior plumbing system to consumers who have not previously been exposed to the attributes of CPVC pipe.
For those participants who have traveled a distance to attend
the University, meals and accommodations are also provided. Mobile training
