FLOWGUARD GOLD® CPVC PROVEN TO BE IN A CLASS BY ITSELF

FlowGuard Gold® CPVC Assigned Highest Cell Class Rating for
Any CPVC Available

CLEVELAND -- Independent testing shows that FlowGuard Gold® CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) meets a new higher cell class*, one never achieved by any other CPVC compound manufacturer. The higher cell classification (as defined by ASTM D 1784) means FlowGuard Gold® CPVC has been proven to have the highest impact resistance and heat deflection temperature (HDT) of any CPVC compound. This higher cell class means increased confidence for the end user that the FlowGuard Gold® CPVC system can handle even extreme demands on the job site and provide long-term, reliable performance.

Higher Impact Strength
FlowGuard Gold® pipe can withstand three times the impact strength, as defined by ASTM D1784, of standard CPVC. The higher impact strength of FlowGuard Gold® CPVC allows professionals in plumbing and building trades to confidently install durable FlowGuard Gold® water distribution systems in a variety of applications, including high-rise residential, healthcare, rehabilitation and hotel/motel facilities, in addition to traditional, single-family homes. Higher impact strength allows the pipe to be cut easier on the construction site resulting in fewer fractures, breaks and ultimately, lower scrap rate.

Higher Heat Distortion Temperature
FlowGuard Gold® CPVC has a HDT rating of 230°F, the highest HDT rating in accordance with ASTM D1784 of any certified CPVC. Standard CPVC has a HDT of 212°F. The higher HDT rating means FlowGuard Gold® pipe will keep its straight, professional appearance where other CPVC systems may sag and bend. Stub-outs won’t distort. Rigidity between hangers will remain straight and strong.

Assigning Cell Class *
The ASTM D1784 standard assigns a numerical value (or cell number) to the test results for each of four physical property tests. This independent testing shows FlowGuard Gold® CPVC has earned a cell classification of 24448, becoming the only CPVC to be rated this high. Standard CPVC compounds for water distribution systems have a 23447 cell classification.

The Benefits of FlowGuard Gold® CPVC Don’t Stop There
In addition to superior impact strength and high HDT, FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings are manufactured to specific performance requirements in accordance with a stringent FlowGuard Gold® CPVC Quality Assurance Program (QAP). The QAP insures that FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings exceed the requirements of ASTM standards. No other CPVC piping systems can match the quality and proven performance of a FlowGuard Gold® piping system.
