Purpose
To demonstrate FlowGuard GoldŽ pipe has superior impact resistance when compared to competitive materials.
Video Demonstration
A 3/4" pipe sample is placed in the drop impact unit. A 12-pound weight is dropped from a height of two-feet (24 foot pounds). The pipe sample is removed from the drop impact unit and the impact from the weight is shown.
Test Method ASTM D2444
- Purpose: Measures pipe quality
- Criteria: 9/10 pass at specified height and weight for each compound and pipe size
Results
The FlowGuard Gold pipe sample shows no visible damage. The non-FlowGuard Gold CPVC pipe sample shatters on impact. The copper pipe sample is crimped where the weight came in contact with the pipe.
